Welcome to Sutton Harbour!

As Chief Executive of the Sutton Harbour Group, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Sutton Harbour Festival and Plymouth Classics 2010.

This year's Festival promises to be the best yet, with four days of Classics, and for the first time a shoreside boat show with a range of exhibitors, all aimed at the traditional and classic boat fan.

So whether you a die-hard classic boat enthusiast or you are just looking to soak up the colour and heritage of Sutton Harbour and its visiting classic boats, you won't be disappointed.

Do take a little time for a leisurely stroll around the Harbour, and you'll see how we've come on in recent years. Shiny new waterside office and apartment developments, our top-quality boutique-style Sutton Harbour Marina, and a range of independent shops, restaurants and bars to suit every taste, interest and pocket.

Take a stroll along Quay Road and you'll find a choice of welcoming places to eat and drink in a continental-style outdoor canopied dining area. Or take a circuit around Sutton Harbour and you'll find a whole range of contemporary, internationally-inspired restaurants including Asia Chic, Rocco y Lola, Zucca and The Souk!

We are proud to again be supporting the Sutton Harbour Festival and Plymouth Classics. It is our pleasure to have you here, and we wish you a very pleasant and memorable time.

Best wishes

Nigel Godefroy
Chief Executive
The Sutton Harbour Group

Classic vessels of up to 80 ft are invited to the Sutton Harbour Festival and Plymouth Classics event this year in the old Port of Plymouth.

New pontoons with power, toilets and showers are provided to participants for a four-day festival from Friday 30th July to Monday 2nd August, with special events and music.  This will culminate in a 20 mile passage race to the old fishing port of Fowey during Tuesday 3rd August where more events are laid on.  Further down the coast at Falmouth, the Pendennis Cup races will start 9th August 2010 for the Super Yacht Classics.

A traditional boat show is being arranged ashore at Plymouth to coincide with the festival with exhibitors from local yards, dealers and marine artists, all aimed at the traditional and classic boat market.  The boat show will finish at 6.00 pm and the marquee made available to crews and exhibitors for food, drink and live entertainment until late each evening.

There is also a wealth of cafes, pubs, restaurants, individual shops and night clubs nearby in the streets of the old Port of Sutton Harbour to ensure a lively event.

So, if you have a nice classic vessel and would like to join us for a week of fun, cruising the west country coast, fill in the attached slip and return to our entry secretary.
